Coach Sameer

Sameer Aldabbagh grew up in Amman, Jordan. He started playing soccer at the age of 5 and quickly fell in love with it. At the age of 12, Sameer was scouted for the Jordanian National Team developmental program. By the time he was 15 years of age, he represented Jordan in their U17 Asian Cup. At the age of 17, he won the Championship alongside his team which took them to the pro league in Jordan and he was named the MVP. Sameer then played for his university’s soccer and futsal teams while he worked to obtain his Bachelors in Paramedics. After graduation, work in the humanitarian field earned him a scholarship by Save The Children UK in order to continue his Masters in London.

After his time in London, Sameer went back to Jordan to work as a Project Manager for Sports For Development/Right to Play using soccer as a method to teach children in school communication and life skills. During this time, Sameer also worked with FIFA organizing the U17 Women’s World Cup. This helped jump start Sameer’s career as a coach.

In 2017, Sameer moved to New York where he has since worked as a coach for multiple football clubs and youth teams in NYC. Coach Sameer holds a United States Soccer Federation International D License and is currently working on his Goalkeeping Level I and II License.

Sameer’s soccer philosophy is that building the character of a player is just as important as developing the skills of a player. Sameer will teach his players through his words and actions the values of respect, ethics, resilience, empathy, teamwork, and sportsmanship that will benefit them long after their youth soccer days are over.
