What is Interleague Soccer?  Interleague Soccer is an opportunity for Commack Soccer League players above the fourth grade to continue their participation in soccer without transferring to the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) sanctioned travel team program of the Commack Soccer League.  Although our Interleague teams play teams from other soccer clubs and do travel to other club’s soccer fields, the operation of the Interleague is much more like an intramural program than a travel program.  Information about the history of Interleague Soccer can be found at Suffolk Soccer Interleague

How are Interleague coaches selected?  Interleague coaches are appointed by the Executive Committee of the Commack Soccer League Board of Directors.  Any person who would like to be considered for appointment needs to apply by expressing interest, either by checking the applicable space on the Interleague registration form or by calling the Interleague coordinator.  All persons who express interest will be called by the coordinator.  During this call, the coordinator will ask a few questions about prior service in the Commack Soccer League, participation in coaching courses and clinics (including training in first aid), and experience in coaching and playing sports, particularly soccer.  Everyone will be given an opportunity to say anything that they would like to say. After completing all of the telephone interviews, the coordinator will report to the Executive Committee and the Executive Committee will make the selections.

How are players assigned to an Interleague team?  After the coaches are selected, the coordinator will lead a discussion among the coaches as to how best to assign the players.  If the coaches can agree on an amicable solution that meets the administrative criteria of the Commack Soccer League, then that solution will be implemented.  If the coaches do not amicably agree or if their agreement does not fulfill the needs of the Commack Soccer League, then the coordinator, in consultation with the Executive Committee of the Commack Soccer League, will impose a solution.

Who organizes the Suffolk Interleague program that Commack Soccer League participates in?  Suffolk Soccer Interleague, Inc. organizes the program which Commack Soccer League - Interleague Division participates in.
